Endurance exercise and gut microbiota


It is well known that regular exercise is good for our health, however, endurance athletes are also familiar with the disadvantages of intense exercise such as gastro-intestinal complaints. It seems that intensive exercise has a profound impact on the gut microbiota. A recently published review investigated how the gut microbiota exert beneficial effects on elite athletes. In this review, our work with Ecologic® PERFORMANCE is also included.
